We don’t see the prolific cricketer AB de Villiers in his national jersey, but he is the regular performer in the franchise leagues. Former South African batsman has the experience to play around the world. He picks up the three best batsmen around the cricket world.
AB de Villiers is a consistent performer in the T20 leagues. On Tuesday (14th January), he made the debut in the Big Bash League (BBL) for Brisbane Heat against Adelaide Strikers. De Villiers scored 40 runs in 32 balls with a strike rate of 125, and it led the Brisbane to win the match by seven wickets.
Before becoming part of BBL, AB de Villiers had a commendable Mzansi Super League (MSL) for the Tshwane Spartans where he racked up 325 runs at a firing strike-rate of 152.58 which also includes four half-centuries in his last six innings.
Graeme Smith played for the team and wanted to make a statement always: AB de Villiers
AB de Villiers has got the experience to play with and against some of the great batsmen. He picks unorthodox Australian batsman Steve Smith and former Proteas skipper, Graeme Smith, as the batsmen who are outstanding in the field. The RCB player also includes his captain Virat Kohli in this list.
“Very limited in his technique but he finds a way just an amazing character,” said AB de Villiers about Steve Smith before adding: “Graeme Smith, there is something about the Smiths. Graeme Smith [was] n, not the flashiest players but he played for the team and wanted to make a statement always. Virat Kohli is similar. The kind of guy you don’t talk on the field.”
De Villiers is enjoying playing cricket in different par of tournaments. He hopes that he dedicates his best to the ongoing BBL.
Speaking to Cricket Australia’s official website cricket.com.au, Me 360 degree said, “I felt in some of the best form of my career. Hopefully, we’ll see more of that in this tournament,” de Villiers said.
