Star South African Batsman AB de Villiers admitted that in judging Virat Kohli as a leader, he doubted his temperament but he got it all wrong.
According to him, Virat Kohli has been exceptional in leadership whether it is for Royal Challengers Bangalore or for Team India. Under Virat Kohli, India regained the top spot in ICC Test Rankings. Under Virat Kohli, his IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore team reached final in last season. AB de Villiers who has played under the leadership of Virat Kohli says that Virat Kohli now had learned how to control his emotions to his own advantage.
“At the start when people mentioned that he has leadership qualities and might become a captain one day, I doubted it. I thought he was emotional with his reactions. I think he has found a way to deal with it. He is still an emotional character, he loves winning and is very passionate but he has found a way to manage and control that”
Recently, Virat Kohli tasted a great amount of success in the home season 2016/17. Virat Kohli with his bat led India to regain the top spot in the Icc Test Cricket Rankings. Virat with bat scored four double ton, he did it in each series India played excluding Australia series. Against Australia, he has got a rare failure averaging only 9.1 in three Test matches. But as a captain, he won every series he played. India played 13 Test matches, winning ten of them. The only loss came against Australia in Pune where Australia thrashed India by 333 runs.
Ab de Villiers also declared Virat Kohli as world’s best batsman currently ahead of the likes of Steven Smith, Kane Williamson and Joe Root. Both Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers will be missing first few games of Indian Premier League season ten. Virat injured his shoulder against Australia in the third Test while Ab de Villiers is battling with back injury.
