The Bangladesh’s slow left-arm orthodox spinner and experienced cricketer Abdur Razzak on Saturday suffered an injury in an attempt to save himself from the run-out.
Soon after, he fell to the ground awkwardly, in the 45th over against Khelaghor Sporting Club at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) ground in Savar, the Tigers’ premier bowler was stretchered off the ground for the medical attention.
In the same DPL match, Razzak claimed five-for after conceding 52 runs while returning to score unbeaten 10.
The reports revealed that if the injury would happen to be too grim, Razzak is expected to stay off the cricket ground for 21 days, to recover fully, in a bid to bowl again.
Razzak, who is playing in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL), franchise Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club is expected to miss the remainder of games after injuring his left thigh and right knee which almost dug into the ground while completing the run.
The 34-year-old Khulna-born Razzak was airlifted to Dhaka where he was admitted to Apollo Hospital.
However, the reports revealed senior campaigner’s condition isn’t that critical which was stated earlier.
The reports have further suggested that Abdur Razzak has been nursing the ‘grade two’ injury.
Doctors in the Apollo hospital has revealed that the spinner would undergo MRI test to know further about his injury.
However, it is expected that MRI report will be made available to media in the late hours of May 7 (Sunday).
Razzak, who has been the part of Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past also featured in Asia XI.
