Ever since Anil Kumble has stepped down as the head coach of Team India, Virat Kohli has been facing a lot of flak from fans and sports personality alike. While there were rumours of an alleged rift between Kumble and Kohli, it was put to bed when Virat Kohli had rubbished all the reports prior to the Champions Trophy-opener against Pakistan on June 4. However, the whole matter came to the fore when Kumble, on Tuesday (June 20), sensationally resigned from the post he assumed last year.
Kumble revealed that he came to know about Kohli’s ‘reservation’ against him only on Monday, a day after Champions Trophy ended. In a strong statement released on Tuesday night, Kumble said: “Post this intimation, I was informed for the first time yesterday by the BCCI that the Captain had reservations with my ‘style’ and about my continuing as the Head Coach.
In light of these ‘reservations’, I believe it is best I hand over this responsibility to whomever the CAC and BCCI deem fit,” he added.
Kumble’s contract had ended after the Champions Trophy but he was given an option to extend his stint for at least one more series and in fact, even the Cricket Advisory Committee was ready to give him a lengthy extension. However, upon knowing that the skipper was not happy with his man management and his ‘style’, Kumble chose to step down and ended his highly successful stint on a disappointing note.
Kohli has been targetted from all corners for playing a big part in Kumble’s stepping down and India’s only individual gold medalist has also joined the bandwagon. The ace shooter took to Twitter to slam Kohli through a suggestive tweet.
“My biggest teachers was coach Uwe.I hated him!But stuck with him for 20 years. He always told me things I did not want to hear.#justsaying,” he tweeted.

While Bindra has not mentioned anyone in his tweet, it is very much clear that it was for the under-fire India skipper.
Bindra was soon joined by ace shuttler Jwala Gutta who too echoed the shooter’s sentiments.
Sometimes that's the important part of training ? I remember my sir doing the same…he still does it!!!
