Abhishek Nayar Changes his Base to Puducherry for the Upcoming Domestic Season
The veteran all-rounder from Mumbai, Abhishek Nayar will change his base to Puducherry in the upcoming domestic season.
Meanwhile, Puducherry will make their debut in the Ranji Trophy this season. BCCI gave their go-ahead for nine new teams in the tournament including the Southern Union Territory.
The officials are leaving no stones unturned to build an excellent squad. In a bid to do so, they have roped in Abhishek Nayar as the outstation cricketer. Nayar has been the backbone of the Mumbai squad for a very long time.
The 99 first-class games veteran, Nayar will bring tons of experience to this Puducherry set up. In the 99 games, he has notched up 5627 runs at an average of 45.74 including 13 centuries. Furthermore, he also has 164 wickets and is well-known for breaking partnerships.
The debutants have also signed experienced Paras Dogra, who has tons of runs to his name. He along with Abhishek Nayar will be a force to reckon for the new entrants.
Abhishek Nayar changes his base to Puducherry
The 34-year-old Nayar took to Twitter to inform the news. He seemed nostalgic to leave Mumbai and embark on a new journey full of challenges.
Moreover, he is confident to put up a good show for his new side Puducherry.

Puducherry have also roped former India cricketer Abhishek Salvi as their head coach. He represented India in four ODIs and has been a stalwart for Mumbai in the domestic circuit. Salvi’s assistant will be Onkar Khanvilkar while former Rajasthan wicketkeeper Dishant Yagnik has been named as the fielding coach.
