Fast-bowler Abu Jayed Rahi has been inducted into Bangladesh squad for the one-off Test against India, after his decent performances in first-class cricket.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), on Saturday, named the 23-year-old Jayed as an additional bowler for the Test.
The 15-member Bangladesh team is already in India to play the historic Test in Hyderabad.
Jayed, who has also been a part of Bangladesh A, earned his maiden call after he bowled well in the domestic league and that caught the eye of national selectors.
Jayed was playing for Islami Bank East Zone in the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), where he picked seven wickets against Central Zone.
Bangladesh will play a two-day practice match against India A in Secunderabad on February 5 and 6.
Reports suggests Jayed will feature in that practice game for Bangladesh.
In 50 first-class games, Jayed has picked 156 wickets at an average of 25.51. To add to that, he has nine five-wicket hauls and six four-wicket hauls to his name.
Bangladesh is currently placed at No. 9 with 62 points in the ICC Test Rankings.
