The two-day mega-auction of the 11th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) witnessed an interesting trend where a number of players returned back to their original franchise.
Several players returned to their respective teams from where they started their journey in the T20 league.
The most iconic return has to be that of Delhi’s Gautam Gambhir, who returned to Delhi Daredevils after a successful stint at Kolkata Knight Riders.
Also, the Prince of Punjab, Yuvraj Singh made a return to the Lions’ den at Mohali this year. Yuvi’s played the first three seasons of the IPL donning the red and whites of KXIP.
Interestingly, the man who lifted the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League is back to Rajasthan Royals’ fortress at Jaipur. Even the likes of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina are back to their beloved franchise at Chennai.
Looking at the pattern, Deccan Chargers’ captain Adam Gilchrist also intended to make a comeback wearing the beige of the Hyderabad based franchise.
“Awesome! Shall I dust off my beige/baby poo brown Deccan Chargers kit?” tweeted Adam Gilchrist.
