Adam Voges admits his career might soon be over

Australian batsman Adam Voges feels that his cricket career is approaching an end as he feels it is almost impossible to get back his spot in the Australian Test squad after missing the day-night Test match against the Proteas due to a concussion.

It was Western Australia’s Sheffield shield clash against Tasmania when the veteran was hit on the back of his helmet when he tried to avoid a bouncer from Cam Stevenson which ruled him out of the third pink ball Test against the Proteas. The incident took place at the WACA stadium in Perth which saw Voges miss the Test in Adelaide.

Voges has had a poor start to the series as he managed to score only 2 runs in the second innings and a duck in the first. The Aussie batsman feels that he is all set to be not considered for the third Test against the Proteas following Australia’s shameful defeat at the hands of the South Africans at Hobart in the second Test.

Voges said, “I think it’s going to be tough, to be honest. I always felt that at my age if I missed any games through injury or form, getting my spot back was always going to be tough,”

Though the right-hand batsman feels he would not feature in the Australian side anymore, he is all set to take the field for Western Australia and guide them to Sheffield Shield success this summer.

“It is what it is. I’m just looking forward to playing for WA on Monday. It’s been a tough start. It’s a real focus of mine now to help the guys get a win on the board and get the season back on track”

Voges also spoke about their position in the Sheffield Shield where Western Australia are just two wins away from the second spot. Voges feels they have had a decent start to the shield if not a perfect one.
