A Statement from the Afghanistan Cricket Board said that President Mohammad Ashraf Gani met with the Shpageeza League players, coaches and analysts at his office at the Presidential Palace on Saturday. Head of Afghanistan Cricket Board Atef Mashaal while thanking from the government’s attention and support said:
“We have created basic policies over the last eight months within the cricket board,” as per the statement.
“Our relations with International Cricket Council (ICC) have improved and we have received its complete membership as well as we have approved statute and policy,” the statement further read.
After hearing many of the participants giving their views and thanking the board for showing gratitude and harmony, President Ghani conceded that:
“You were representing sport’s tongue and you have the courage to unite the people more than before.”
Meanwhile, the President thanked the players, coaches and foreign analysts for participating the mentioned matches. He also thanked the private sector for helping the country improve in cricket and stressed on the need for removing any hurdles before cricket.
