Indian pacer Mohammed Shami last turned out for a competitive match on March 6.
While the 27-year old isn’t making much noise with the ball, his off-field issues refused to take a breather.
BCCI cleared the pacer from the match-fixing allegations placed by his wife, Hasin Jahan.
Shami’s contract was withheld for a specified duration, and the non-bailable warrant was issued against him too.
No justice to Jahan yet
Jahan hasn’t found justice yet, and in a bid to make her case stronger, she met the acting president of the BCCI, CK Khanna.
“I spoke to CK Khanna sir just, and he listened to me very calmly. He also assured me of looking into the matter. I would like to thank him for sparing his precious time for me,” she said.
Shami’s wife feels the entire investigation got wrapped up quickly.
“In the Indian culture, image of a person matters a lot and his (Shami’s) contract was withheld on the basis of his image. Then he was suddenly given a clean chit and media highlighted it, and things got diverted from the main point. Shami is the first player who has been cleared of any such issue so quickly,” Hasin Jahan continued.
Change in attitude
She even went on to say that Shami’s attitude has gone from poor to worse. Jahan said the cricketer is behaving like a ‘don’ and talks as if he rules the world.
“After getting clean chit Shami is acting like a don and behaving like he has been ruling the world. His attitude has changed drastically since then. He has got specific media support, and even you guys know that. Shami and that media guy has been demeaning me a lot on Youtube and has crossed all the lines,” Jahan said.
Shami’s change in behaviour
On her husband’s changed behaviour, Jahan went on to say,
“I have been living here in the guest house from last four days with my daughter, and Shami hasn’t even come to meet her who did all the drama by crying for her a few days ago,” she concluded while making him few more severe allegations on her cricketer husband.
