With the passage of time the dressing sense of cricketers have improved by leaps and bounds. The current crop of players like to flaunt designer dress and are no less than bollywood celebrities when it comes to dressing sense. In fact, the like of Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma sometimes even leave the celebrities behind in that aspect. However, there are still certain players who like to keep it simple.
Just before leaving for the West Indies tour, Indian batsman Rohit Sharma had an interview with Indianexpress in which he spilled some beans on the fashion sense of his teammates.
When quizzed about the fashionista in the team, Rohit Sharma said that when he broke into the team, Yuvraj was the one who was followed by everyone. However, the mantle has now passed to Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli.
“When I came into the team, it was Yuvraj (Singh). Everyone tried to follow him. Now it’s probably (Virat) Kohli.”
When asked about his teammate with worst dressing sense, the right-handed batsman said:”The most boring dresser is Ajinkya Rahane. Lots of us are sporting beards these days, maybe it’s just a coincidence. Only Anil Kumble doesn’t have one.”
Well one can say that his answer is not surprising. Ajinkya Rahane is probably the simplest cricketer in the Indian Team. Apart from this Rohit also talked about his ODI world record score of 264,hard work behind his elegant batting, on him being a talented underachiever, on the prospect of facing the pink ball in India’s first ever day-night Test and much more.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket Team is in West Indies right now where they are scheduled to play four Tests. The first Test will begin on July 21 at Antigua. Rohit Sharma has cemented his place in the limited overs Team after performing brilliantly in the last couple of years. However, a Test spot is still not cemented and he would like to grab this opportunity to cement his place before the bumper home season consisting of 13 Tests begins after the West Indies tour.
