Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane took some tips from legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar during a net session in Mumbai ahead of Australia series.
Largely considered as a viable backup to Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, Rahane has excelled in the role whenever he was called up to play in the starting XI.
But the Mumbai batsman is keen to improve his batting skills and has taken the advice of Sachin Tendulkar. The 29-year old, who is one of the most gifted talents in Indian cricket, is yet to consolidate his position in Indian limited overs squad.
He is mainly a squad player in ODI team as he failed while playing in middle order on numerous occasions. Rahane is delighted with the help he got from Sachin as he thanked the master in his latest Instagram post.
His post read: “Had a great net session ✌️✌️ Thank you so much for your time and inspiring words paaji.”
India are set to play against Australia in 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is. Rahane is set to be a key member of the squad, and he could even be tried in the middle order once again.
Rahane made an impressive 300+ runs in the ODI series against West Indies and considering the poor form of Indian middle order, Ravi Shastri, and Virat Kohli might be tempted to give him a run in the middle order.
