Bangladesh’s two national team players Al-Amin Hossain and batsman Sabbir Rahman were fined $15,000 by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for “serious off-field disciplinary breaches” after they reportedly entertained female guests in their hotel rooms.
The board in a statement said that the players have breached the disciplinary code of conduct during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and strict actions will be taken if found to repeat the same incidents in future.
It gave no details of the charges against the players, but the Prothom Alo daily reported online that they had taken female guests to their hotel rooms during the tour.
“The players have been reminded of their responsibility as national cricketers and have been warned that any repetition of similar acts of indiscretion in the future will result in a harsher penalty,” the BCB said.
The fines imposed on them are the highest ever on the Bangladeshi’s player on disciplinary grounds.
Not only this, the Bangladesh Premier League came under the scanner after the reports of fixing matches emerged during the current season as the players and officials concerning in the matter are under investigation.
