All-Rounder Stuart Binny Leaves Karnataka, Next Move Undecided
Indian all-rounder Stuart Binny is all set to end his 16-year-long association with Karnataka Cricket as he has decided to leave the state team for the upcoming season, a report in TOI suggests. Though his next move is not revealed for now but it is confirmed that Binny will not be playing for Karnataka.
From the past few years, Karnataka have often dropped senior players from the squad due to the abundance of talent. Binny has also been dropped a few times from the squad. A few seasons ago, Karnataka had also dropped Robin Uthappa and Abhimanyu Mithun from the squad. As a result of it, Uthappa decided to leave the state after the end of the season. He moved to Saurashtra for next two seasons.
Binny is yet another international player who will move out of the state. He had made his first-class debut for Karnataka against Tamil Nadu back in 2003 under the captaincy of former cricketer turned coach J Arunkumar. He was out on a duck in the first innings but scored a 60-ball 54 in the second innings. Tamil Nadu chased down a target of 261 to win the match.

After returning to BCCI’s fold in 2009, Binny also made his T20 debut for Karnataka against Goa. His List A debut had come for India’s Emerging team against Pakistan’s Emerging team in 2003. In total, he has played 88 first-class, 90 List A and 139 T20s so far.
Apart from that, he has also played six Test matches, 14 ODIs and 3 T20Is. Binny was a part of the squad for the tour of West Indies in 2016 and was dropped after the end of the series. He hasn’t made a comeback in the national team since then.
It remains to be seen whether Binny will be part of any of the nine teams that were formed last year or will he move to any established team. He was recently part of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2019. He has also been part of Royal Challengers Bangalore, franchise based out of his state.
