Ambati Rayudu, one of India’s finest talents in the last decade who failed to get good amount of chances despite his unbelievable domestic record.

With Mumbai Indians in IPL, Rayudu has shown the fans and the selectors about the amount of talent he possesses, even then it took almost 4-5 years before he got a chance for Zimbabwe tour in 2013.

One of the main reasons of course is his participation in Indian Cricket League as he was considered a rebel by the board which prompted selectors to ignore him. However, since his inclusion in IPL, Rayudu has made a huge impact and used the maximum of the opportunities he got in Team India jersey.

The player has helped India to win its first ODI series victory since October 2014 as he scored unbeaten 62 and 41 in the on-going Zimbabwe tour.

“I am happy with the way I am batting. You know the conditions well but still every year and everytime it’s different. I haven’t looked into the past. I am just playing on what I am facing as per conditions. I have worked on the game also a bit so I am happy,” Rayudu said in the post-match press conference.

Despite his impressive performances in Indian jersey, the player had a few chances when compared to other. However, the 30-year old is happy with the way his ODI career has progressed.

“My ODI career, I am really happy with the way it has gone. Given the guys that we have in the team, somebody has to do the role that I am doing. So it is important for me to stay focused and take my opportunities when they come.””For me generally it’s just about getting my batting in shape. Most of the times, visualization is the key I feel. Even when you’re out for a long period of time, travelling with the team, I try to keep myself motivated and focused. I prepare myself before the game as though I am going to play it.”
