Earlier, there were reports that he has been offered a stint by ACB to succeed Lalchand Rajput as the Head Coach of Afghanistan. But now this move shows that Kaif is keen to play for the state for another season. Also, this indicates that Kaif has delayed the contract as of now.

However, there can be a case when he might look for it again after the end of Ranji season.

The Mohammad Kaif-led side will take on Goa in their first game of the season from October 6.
