Following the successful emergence of T20 leagues in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh is all set to follow suit as the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is gearing up to have a T20 league in the state.
As per the report in Cricbuzz, the state board is launching the league named Andhra Premier League (APL) T20 in association with Redmoon Creative Private Limited and just like the other leagues, the upcoming league will aim to unearth new talents and mould them into world beaters.
The likes of T Natarajan and N Jagadeesan were some of the prominent names who emerged from the first season of Tamil Nadu Premier League with the former getting a handsome amount in this year’s Indian Premier League.
And with the catchline of the upcoming tournament being, ‘Your time is now’, the youngsters can surely cash in on it and utilise the platform to come into the limelight.
“Our aim is to spark the feelings and taste of the game in everyone’s life. Life is there to be enjoyed, and we endeavour to provide new experiences that excite the senses and inspire all ages to feel the game,” the tournament brochure says.
The state body has already signed an agreement with Redmoon Creative, and thereby all the logistics will be handled by Redmoon Creative.
“All the operational and organising activities like franchise management and brand sponsorship etc. have been assigned to Rajesh Mandhapati, MD, Redmoon Creative Private Limited to conduct the said Andhra Premier League (APL),” sources were quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
