Need 5-10 Words To Describe Virat Kohli: Andre Russell
Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who is best in every format of cricket, has been praised from every corner of the world for his game. West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell is also in the line to praise the player’s technique. He said that it is difficult to describe the player in one word.
Virat Kohli is the fastest player to reach the milestone of 11,000 runs in One-Day International. He has already scored 21,000+ runs in international cricket. The skipper is No.2 in Test batting ranking and he is leading the No. 1 Test team.
Northern Warriors player Andre Rusell is currently busy in the Abu Dhabi T10 league. He calls Virat Kohli as a tremendous, determined, true champion and classy.
“He (Virat) is a tremendous player. Sometimes, you may have to put five-ten words together to actually describe him as a player. He is such a determined guy,” Russell said on the sidelines of the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 league.
“Virat is a true champion. I just hope that he can keep entertaining the fans. He has been performing well in Test cricket, ODIs and T20I cricket. He is a proper all-around player,” he added.
Andre Russell defines the technique of Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli has proved through his bat that conventional ways are still the best in the modern era. Russell also marked the difference between Virat and his batting. He labels his batting as brute force whereas Virat’s batting as smooth.
“Virat’s technique is a lot different from mine. It’s more classical than mine. I am more awkward batter where my technique is not that smooth,” Russell said.
“My technique is all about power and brute force. I try to hit the ball as hard as possible off every delivery I face,” he added.
The pressure to win the T20 World Cup 2020.
Russell opines that there is a pressure to perform well in the next year’s T20 World Cup as they are the defending champions. He feels that the team needs to play some good cricket to return to their form.
“A lot of pressure will be there on us. That’s why we are trying to play as a group and win as many series as we can from now onwards. We need to start playing some proper cricket. I hope that we can come and defend our title,” he said.
Meanwhile, West Indies is scheduled to play three T20Is and three ODIs with the hosts India. Earlier, India toured the Carribean land in last August-September where the hosts were clean swept in T20I and Test series and also lost the three-match ODI series by 2-0.
