Andrew Tye Picks his All-Time XI; Keeps Virat Kohli on the List
Andrew Tye became the latest cricketer to reveal his all-time XI. Tye earned a call-up to the Australian One Day squad for the upcoming series against England after an impressive domestic season.
The right arm fast-bowler also has a rare record of claiming three T20 hat-tricks in a calendar year in 2017. Tye had played seven T20I matches for Australia and is one of the most successful T20 bowlers in the Big Bash League.
Tye will join the fast bowling department already comprising Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood and Pat Cummins in the Australian side and will find it hard to make it to the playing XI and make his ODI debut.
However, when got a chance, he penned down his all-time XI and also justified his selection.
When asked if he would pick himself in the XI, he funnily denied.
Here is Andrew Tye’s All-time XI-:
Alastair Cook – Just because of his temperament and once he gets hundred, he goes big. I would definitely have him opening the batting.
Justin Langer – To repay the favour (laughs). Just his tenacity and eager to win the battle and fight against the opposition. Probably one of the most exciting opening pair (Langer and Cook) and effective way of wearing down the bowlers.
Jacques Kallis – The record that he has with both bat and ball, has to be pretty much in anyone’s top XI ever I reckon.
Ricky Ponting – Elite player, just such a good batsman to watch when he is going.
Virat Kohli – One of the best batsman in the world at the moment and have to him in the team.
Steven Smith – He is still so young and averaging over 60 with an unbelievable technique.
Adam Gilchrist (wk)– He changed the landscape for wicketkeepers forever. The way he could be so destructive and turn the game on his head in a matter of 100 balls.
Shane Warne – The control that he had as a leg-spinner. The fact that nobody else as leg-spinner has ever come close to what he has done.
Dale Steyn – Again another who shows such ferocious way. Gets the job done and really let the batsman know that he is in the contest.
Curtly Ambrose – His tearing pace and bounce made it tough for any batsman.
Glenn McGrath – The control that he had in, ability to take wickets over and over again and control over the run-rate, that was outstanding.
