ToggleFormer Zimbabwe captain Andy Flower has joined the Australia backroom ahead of their ICC World Test Championship (WTC 2023) final against India which begins on June 7 at the Oval in London and the subsequent Ashes 2023 which will follow after the ICC event.
He’ll probably play the same part in the second half of the Ashes, which starts just after the WTC championship, as well.
Flower, 55, has vast coaching experience in England. From 2009 to 2014, he was the head coach of the men’s national team. Earlier, he also served as the squad’s team director, and in combined capacities, England enjoyed three Ashes series victories.
Following his time with England, Flower took on coaching positions in other T20 Leagues throughout the world and experienced success. His most recent job included leading the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL in 2023 when they advanced to the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

India and Australia are set to clash for the ICC World Test Championship title in the second cycle, with the final beginning on June 7 at the Oval in London.
Australia topped the WTC points table in the 2021–23 cycle with 66.67 points percent (PCT) in 19 Tests, while India made its cut for the final with 58.8 PCT after beating the Kangaroos 2-1 in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at home.
India vs Australia World Test Championship final 2023 will take place between June 7 and 12. The ball used for the encounter will be the Grade 1 Dukes ball at the Kennington Oval Stadium in London, England.
The match will begin at 3.30 PM IST and the game will have a reserve day as well, June 12.
