Angelo Mathews has demanded a fitness test from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) selectors after they revealed that Mathews would not be a part of the squad for the England series.
Meanwhile, the selectors sacked Mathews from the limited-overs captaincy following their dismal run in the Asia Cup. Dinesh Chandimal has now taken over the reigns from Mathews
According to reports in the Sri Lankan media, Mathews met with Sri Lanka’s head coach Chandika Hathurasingha at SLC’s high-performance centre, where the selectors told him that they had concerns over his fitness and would not pick him for the home series versus England starting October 10.
