ToggleSri Lanka’s all-rounder Angelo Mathews has picked his fellow teammate Lasith Malinga to be a better bowler than India’s ace paceman Jasprit Bumrah. Mathews stated that he would pick Malinga ahead of Bumrah because of the experience of the former. Meanwhile, Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah are one of the best fast bowlers of the current era.
One can argue that Malinga is past his heydays and he is not at his prime in the fag end of his career, which generally is the case with most players. However, Bumrah has been ticking the right boxes in the recent past and he has impressed with his skills.

Lasith Malinga is the best in the business
Meanwhile, it is known that Malinga only has helped Jasprit Bumrah take giant strides. Malinga has been Bumrah’s guru and has helped him in learning at the top level. The Sri Lankan legend has also helped the youngster in bowling the yorkers accurately and Bumrah is currently one of the best death bowlers in the world.
Both the fast bowlers have been instrumental in the success of the Mumbai Indians in the IPL and they have enjoyed each other’s company. Malinga is the highest wicket-taker of the T20 league with 170 wickets in 122 IPL matches.

“I would still pick Lasith purely because of his experience. But Bumrah is also one of the best death bowlers going around these days,” Mathews said while talking to CricTracker.
Bumrah has often given credit to Lasith Malinga for helping him take massive strides in his young career. The right-arm pacer from India has handled the pressure well and he is known to be right on the money in the fag end of the innings.
Bumrah has had a great start to his Test career as he has scalped 68 wickets in 14 Test matches. On the other hand, Lasith Malinga has been a massive servant for Sri Lanka cricket and did a fine job throughout his career.
