Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews, arguably the best all-rounder at the moment, has taken the time to reveal his all-time XI. It comes as a no surprise as there are 5 Sri Lankan players in his squad.
The team is an absolute master-class as it is packed with legends but the Sri Lankan has gone for 5 bowlers in his XI and has also chose Sri Lankan legend Aravinda de Silva as the captain of his side.
The 29-year old has chosen Sachin Tendulkar to open the innings which comes as a no surprise. He chose him former team-mate Kumar Sangakkara to partner him at the top despite him unbelievable record at No.3, a place which he made his own in Sri Lankan Team.
He then chose the greatest West Indies player in recent time, Brian Lara at No.3 and has the Sri Lankan legend who is leading the side, Aravinda de Silva at No.4.
The class of Mahela Jayawardene and Jacques Kallis finishes the six-man batting line up which is very decent despite having only six batsmen in the team.
The bowling contingent has the greatest spinners to ever played the game Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralidharan who have had 2000+ international wickets between them. Then he picks up arguably the greatest trio in bowling in the entire cricket history.
He chose Pakistan’s Wasim Akram, Sri Lanka’s Chaminda Vaas, and Australia’s Glenn McGrath as his pace bowlers which adds much-needed variety to the team.
Wasim Akram was a challenge for any batsman during his playing days as most of the players feared to face him. Chaminda Vaas is undoubtedly the greatest fast bowler for Sri Lanka ever and Glenn McGrath is arguably one of the top-2 greatest fast bowlers ever lived as he tortured every batting up he came against.
