Anil Kumble’s belongings stolen from Kanpur stadium
The biggest stage was set as team India was set to enter new millennium by participating in 500th Test match in the history. The BCCI organised a jamboree before the start of the game and a felicitation ceremony was organised just before the start of the game. The governor of Uttar Pradesh Ram Naik was called to be part and felicitate the stalwart cricketers.
Former cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar, Ajit Wadekar, Kapil Dev, Ravi Shastri, Sachin Tendulkar, M.S. Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble marked their presence. There was tight security inside and outside the ground, still, someone from the crowd managed to flee away with coach Anil Kumble’s belongings.
The former players were called on stage for the felicitation ceremony; Kumble was also called on the stage. He was carrying his phone, sunglasses and few other belongings with him. The moment he was called on the stage he kept his belongings on a table and went to the stage. Soon when he came back, he recovered that none of his belongings was there on the table; neither his phone nor his sunglasses were there. His other belongings were also absent from the table.
This is something to think over as there was tight security cover and still someone managed to go away with player’s belongings. Surely, the matter will be discussed as how can a person go away with someone’s belonging when there is tight security cover?
We may see BCCI investigating this matter soon and coming out with a result.
