Virat Kohli the talk of the nation has been a really good player for the team but has seen himself land in trouble on more than one occasion.

The BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur on Wednesday said that Kohli who was spotted having a chat with his Anushka Sharma his girlfriend during a rain break, violated the code of conduct and that action will be taken against him. Thakur added that the players are not allowed to talk to anyone during the game except the colleagues in the dug-out as per the IPL anti- corruption guidelines and that no player is above the law. He said that a notice was already issued and that they are waiting for an explanation.

Thakur also said that the BCCI was happy with the team’s recent performances and that a new trend has been witnessed in the past few seasons. He said that this was just a beginning and that they will only improve.

Thakur was also all praises for the IPL’s education policy on corruption. He said that in the early stages of the IPL a player from Rajasthan was approached by a bookie and that it was reported to the board. Thakur said that it was great to see players reporting back to the anti-corruption unit and that it shows the responsibility that the players have. He also said that his focus was to get cricket into the spotlight and to reduce the number controversies to a bare minimum.
