Arjun Tendulkar has come in support of his friend Prithvi Shaw after he was embroiled in a controversy after he was accused by an influencer Sapna Gill of hitting her and her friends, while people on Shaw’s side filed complaint with police for harassment by the influencer.

On Wednesday, February 15, Shaw had visited a hotel in Mumbai for dinner with his friends, where the said influencer and her friends asked for selfies from the Indian cricketer. After obliging them for a few times, Shaw asked them to leave him alone when they demanded a few more clicks.

Later as per a complaint filed by his friend in Oshiwara police, Shaw and his buddy’s car was attacked by the people who were with the influencer with baseball bats and damage was done. And they were pursued till a petrol pump, where the two parties got into an altercation.

One of the fans was a social media influencer, Sapna Gill, who claimed that she never asked for a selfie with Shaw as she didn’t know him while alleging that he hit her on her chest and arms.

Videos on social media show Shaw, who has had charges of indiscipline in the past against him, not backing down after the fans’ attack as he quickly stopped them from taking a selfie even after he told them not to take a picture.

As for the ‘selfie row’, the case is in the Mumbai court where the influencer denied charges on her of hitting the cricketer while saying that Shaw was drunk as she requested the court to listen to her version of the incident.

“He (Shaw) hit me on the chest and arms. We were there just to take help of police. They were eight to ten people and we were just two. I do not know him, nor I have ever seen him. I never asked for a selfie with him. He was totally drunk. He was in front of a police station, he could have filed the FIR then only,” Sapna further stated in the court.

Meanwhile, as Shaw is struggling with this new controversy just as he had made a comeback to the Indian team for the recent T20Is against New Zealand, he got some support from his childhood friend and son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun.

Arjun took to Instagram and posted a couple of photos on his Instagram story tagging Shaw with a message reading: “”Stay strong boy, always with you through good and bad times @prithvishaw.”
