It was an interesting session in the nets on Wednesday. Former captain and Pakistan bowling legend Wasim Akram was seen giving bowling tips and classes to Arjun Tendulkar, as a proud father Sachin Tendulkar looked on at the Wankhede Stadium.
It is interesting to know that Wasim Akram is the bowling coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). KKR will face Mumbai Indians here on Thursday.
Just ahead of Kolkata’s practice session on Wednesday, Akram was busy giving bowling and fitness tips to Arjun, which Arjun was seen following with a commitment.
Narrating his experience over this session, the 48-year-old bowling legend said,”I met Arjun last summer in England, he played an exhibition game there. He was bowling and I was standing at mid on. And I think he got Brian Lara out. He is just 15 years old, he is very keen, he is a left-arm medium pacer. I spoke to him about his action and about his swing and also about his fitness which is very very crucial. He is very eager and that is a good thing.”
Also, Sachin Tendulkar was seen giving tips to his 15 years old son, who is gradually learning to improvise his cricketing skills. Obviously, being the son of great Sachin, the expectations from Arjun are very high and hopefully he will also walk into the footsteps of his father, but meanwhile he must be provided his own space for grooming as he is just 15 years old and be allowed to take his own time without any pressure.
