Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, continues to grab the headlines for all the right reasons. In his latest outing, Tendulkar junior impressed once again, taking six wickets for 70 runs while playing for Vijay Merchant XI against Vijay Manjrekar XI in the KC Mahindra Shield U-19 tournament.
With Arjun spitting fire with the ball, Vijay Manjrekar XI were bundled for just 216 runs in the second innings. Consequently, Vijay Merchant XI only had 120 runs to chase in the second innings and they went on to win. Apart from Arjun, another player who impressed for Vijay Merchant XI was Pragnesh Kanpillewar who scored 155 in the first innings.
Arjun had recently impressed in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The left-arm pacer had bagged the figures of 5/30 to help Mumbai thrash Gujarat by 9 wickets. He had also taken 3 for just 14 runs off seven overs in Mumbai’s 10-wicket win over Assam.

Earlier this year, Arjun Tendulkar announced his arrival to the Indian cricketing arena by earning his maiden call-up from India’s Under-19 team. He was a part of the team for the Youth Tests in Sri Lanka. Arjun had gone on the make a name for himself by claiming his first wicket in his very first over. He, however, did not play in the subsequent Youth ODI series.

Prior to that, he made headlines after his brilliant debut in the Spirit of Cricket Global Challenge in Australia. Playing for Cricketer’s Club of India (CCI) against Hong Kong Cricket Club (HKC) in a T20 match, he delivered an impressive all-round show. Arjun scored 48 off 27 balls before picking up four wickets in four overs.
