Arjun Tendulkar has been selected in the Mumbai U-19 side for the first two games of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy against Baroda and Saurashtra. Arjun was recently part of the Mumbai U-19 side for the JY Lele tournament as well. He played two games before getting dropped from the team for the third contest.

Arjun, a regular bowler at Lord’s nets, is an all-rounder but is mainly a left-arm pacer. He was one of the bowlers bowling to the Indian women’s team ahead of the final clash against England in the ICC World Cup.
Before that as well, Arjun was seen bowling in the England net session, where one of the deliveries from him hit Jonny Bairstow on his leg which left the batsman in pain. The batsman was quick to leave the nets soon after.

Arjun would be looking to make most out of the experience he gained while bowling in the Lord’s nets to international teams.
Meanwhile, Mumbai selectors also announced their squad for their first contest of CK Nayudu Trophy. Mumbai Ranji opener Jay Bista has been handed over the captaincy duties, which means that he will not be part of the Mumbai side for their first Ranji game at least. Arman Jaffer has also been given a place in the team, which also rules him out of the first contest.
Bista made his first-class debut in 2015/16 season whereas Jaffer’s debut came in the next season. The latter though had made it to the Ranji preliminary squad way back in the year 2013 after his superlative show in Vijay Merchant Trophy where he scored 1036 in eight matches. He played an innings of 290 in the final against Delhi in Delhi and helped Mumbai to clinch the trophy.
