Denis Lillee was the first of the three pace-bowlers in Ponting’s list. Ponting recalled how the “Lillee, Lillee” chant went around his head when Lillee was at the peak of his careers. Having played only 12 Ashes Test matches, Lillee held an outstanding record of picking up 82 wickets with an average just over 20. Ponting also mentioned how Lillee loved to feature in Ashes series.
