”It’s not the final that most people were anticipating or expecting, but make no mistake, Bangladesh fully deserve to be in the final and if India takes them lightly then they could be in for a surprise too. The manner in which they stormed back after the loss to Afghanistan shows the resolve and determination of this Bangladesh unit,” Sunil Gavaskar wrote.
Talking about Mashrafe Mortaza, Gavaskar pointed out that he has been brilliant with his field placements. He also drew instances from Bangladesh’s last game to justify his point.
”Mashrafe Mortaza has led the side brilliantly with his field placements. The bowling changes and the team has responded in the most positive manner possible. Mortaza showed his captaincy by opening the bowling with off-spinner Mehidy Hasan and he got rid of Fakhar Zaman, who is capable of taking the game away from the opposition,” Sunil Gavaskar signed off.
