Asia Cup 2018: Super Four, Match 5 – India vs Afghanistan – India’s Predicted XI

Team India will square off against Afghanistan on September 24 at Dubai in a dress rehearsal ahead of the mega-finale clash of the ongoing Asia Cup 2018.
Meanwhile, India has dominated the proceedings so far in this six-nation tournament. On the other hand, Afghanistan lost track after scripting a great start.
India have been in clinical in all the departments with their opening pair grabbing most of their headlines. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have been spectacular with the bat throughout this Asia Cup. The bowlers have also done a great job with the new ball and in the middle overs.
However, they will look to rest some of their key players ahead of the finale clash. The finals of this high-voltage tournament is on September 28 (Friday).
Here is the predicted XI of team India against Afghanistan in the Super Four Clash of this Asia Cup:
SHIKHAR DHAWAN
Shikhar Dhawan has been in terrific form throughout this tournament and will be keen to get some practice ahead of the Friday’s mega-finale.
ROHIT SHARMA (C)
Rohit Sharma has been leading the side from the front with back to back to swashbuckling knocks. He will be desperate to play another match-defining knock to enter the finals on a high.
AMBATI RAYUDU
Ambati Rayudu has used this opportunity to full effect chipping in with useful contributions. He will look to score more runs and present his case in front of the selectors.
DINESH KARTHIK
Dinesh Karthik will have to come good if when he wants to cement his spot in that India line-up. Meanwhile, Karthik has got starts in this Asia Cup but will have to score big to make it count.
MS DHONI (WK)
MS Dhoni will have to get some runs ahead of the pinnacle clash of this Asia Cup on Friday. The team management will want to promote Dhoni up the order and allow him some game time.
KEDAR JADHAV
Kedar Jadhav has shown with the ball, however, is yet to get an opportunity with the bat. He will look to score some runs against Afghanistan in the last encounter Super Four.
RAVINDRA JADEJA
Ravindra Jadeja made a spectacular comeback to the ODI squad, however, had a tough outing against Pakistan. He will also look to pick some wickets and contribute to the team’s success.
BHUVNESHWAR KUMAR
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been the strike bowler for India over the last few years. Rohit Sharma will look to him for some early wickets with the new ball. Kumar, who had a wicketless game in the last Asia Cup fixture, will be keen to be among wickets ahead of the finals.
KULDEEP YADAV
Kuldeep Yadav has been a force to reckon with for India in the limited-overs format for the last one year. Although the number of wickets has gone, Kuldeep can weave his magic on any given day.
It will be an interesting battle to watch between India spinner and their counterparts.
YUZVENDRA CHAHAL
Yuzvendra Chahal returned to form in the last clash against Pakistan as he provided the first breakthrough. The spinners will decide the fate of the game and Chahal will be up against Rashid Khan.
KHALEEL AHMED
Khaleel Ahmed impressed in his debut game against Hong Kong, however, had to sit out due to the return of Jasprit Bumrah in the XI. He is likely to return to the squad again in place of Bumrah and will look to impress the selectors for one last time.
