Asia Cup 2018 Schedule: The schedule of Asia Cup 2018 has been released which will take place in the United Arab Emirates. It is worth noting that Asia cup is now a biennial tournament following some amendments.
The tournament will kick-off from September 15. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will lock horns with each other in the opener at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will play directly in the tournament, as they do not have to go through qualifying phase.
HongKong, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, Singapore, and UAE will fight for the remaining one spot. They have to go for the qualifying round.
The teams have once again been divided into two groups. The Group A consists of – India, Pakistan and the qualifier. In the Group B, there will be Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Once again Pakistan and India will share a similar group in any grand event. The arch-rivals, India and Pakistan will face each other on the 19th of September.
It will be the second and last match of the group stage for both the sides. In an eye-opener, this would be India’s second One Day International in as many days, as they play the qualifying team on 18th in their tournament opener.
