Former India captain, MS Dhoni once again failed to put some runs under his belt in the Asia Cup Group A match against Hong Kong at the Dubai International Stadium.
Meanwhile, India looked in a good position after a swashbuckling hundred from Shikhar Dhawan. He partnered Ambati Rayudu, who is coming on the back of some good form, to put India on top. The duo rotated the strike while the odd boundaries kept coming by. The cricketer from Delhi, however, was the aggressor of the two taking the attack to the opposition.
However, Rayudu’s departure saw Dhawan also going back to the pavilion which left India reeling at 240 for 3. Dhawan’s(127) wicket brought the talismanic MS Dhoni to the crease in the beginning game of this Asia Cup.
MS Dhoni fan disappointed after a poor show
Dhoni came to the crease perfectly poised for him to finish the game in a grand fashion. Dhoni, who had a poor stint in England, was keen to get some runs under his belt ahead of the important Pakistan clash. However, he departed only in his third delivery without even opening his account.
MS Dhoni looked to run one down for a single from Aijaj Khan but steered it to the wicket-keeper’s big hands. It was a big edge and he didn’t wait for the umpires decision to walk back.
Meanwhile, this left a follower of his baffled as he shouted in disappointment. He also hurled at the seats in utter sorrow. Dhoni, however, needs to pull up his socks as India will rely on him against the arch-rivals Pakistan in the absence of Virat Kohli.
