Asia Cup 2018: We Will Try to Perform Well – Sarfraz Ahmed

Pakistan Cricket Team skipper Sarfraz Ahmed admitted that they would try to put their best shot in the upcoming Asia Cup 2018 at the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Meanwhile, the six-nation tournament will commence from September 15 with Sri Lanka Bangladesh playing the series opener. Pakistan will play their first game against Hong Kong before clashing with India on September 19.
Speaking to Pakistan Cricket Board’s Twitter handle, Sarfraz Ahmed noted that they would be keen to put a good show. Pakistan last won the tournament in 2012 and will look to put a hand on the coveted trophy this time.
“If you talk about Asia Cup then it is an event in which 6 top Asian teams will participate, so obviously we will try that the team performs well there,” Sarfraz said. “Pakistan made it to the final of 2014 Asia Cup, while we won the event in 2012, so will try to go there well prepared,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Green Caps under the leadership of Sarfraz Ahmed is currently in Dubai training hard for the tournament. UAE being their home soil for the past few years, they are the favourites to lift the trophy.
Commenting on games against their arch-rivals India, the veteran cricketer noted that it has always been exciting. He also stated these matches provide the best atmosphere and they are looking forward to it.
“I have not seen the atmosphere of a Pakistan-India match in any other cricket match,” Sarfraz Ahmed signed off.
