India is likely to begin their campaign of the much anticipated Asia Cup 2023 against the arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2 in the first round of the group stage and if both teams qualify for the group four stage they are likely to face off each other on September 10. Both games are likely to be scheduled in Colombo or Kandy in Sri Lanka.
The long-standing concerns about the Upcoming Asia Cup 2023 continental event came to an end after the latest ACC meeting, where India finally accepted the hybrid model proposed by Pakistan, as they will host only 4 games in the marquee event as other games being played in Sri Lanka
The tournament shall be played between August 31 and September 17 in Pakistan and Sri Lanka being the joint of the tournament. The announcement was delayed for various reasons with the venue being the biggest concern after BCCI announced that Team India will not visit Pakistan for the tournament citing security reasons.
Pakistan is likely to host the games in Lahore and Multan. The Men in Green will play their first match against Nepal in their on August 30th or 31st in Multan. The official announcement of the schedule is expected on Wednesday.
