Former Indian pacer S Sreesanth feels that the comeback man KL Rahul will replace the inf0rm Ishan Kishan in the playing 11 once he returns to the team for the super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka. The left-handed batter was the standout player for India in the opening game against Pakistan on Saturday.
Ishan Kishan would be hard to ignore from playing 11 in the upcoming games. He has delivered in the 50-over format by scoring four consecutive half-centuries in the game. Kishan has shown the versatility to bat at different positions and different stages of the innings for India in ODI cricket.
Speaking exclusively to Sportskeeda, Sreesanth feels that it is difficult to predict things in Indian cricket, as things might change often, and reckons that Shreyas Iyer doesn’t have a fixed spot in the playing 11. He asserted that KL Rahul might walk into the playing 11 in place of Ishan Kishan once he is match-fit.

“It is difficult to predict anything in Indian cricket. Anything can happen. I think that Shreyas Iyer also doesn’t have a designated place in the batting order and will have to keep shuffling. Once KL Rahul is fit, and if he is going to keep, he will replace Ishan Kishan,” Sreesanth said.
KL Rahul is likely to take up the crucial No.5 spot in the middle order once he makes a comeback into the playing 11.
I Would Say It Was A Captain’s Knock By Hardik Pandya – S Sreesanth
Sreesanth hailed Hardik Pandya’s knock against Pakistan. Pandya built his innings beautifully in the middle overs and also highlighted the fact that the Indian all-rounder was brutal against Haris Rauf after hitting three consecutive fours in the game.

“I would say it was a captain’s knock by Hardik Pandya, He built his innings brilliantly alongside Ishan Kishan. After Haris Rauf gave Ishan Kishan an aggressive send-off, Hardik hit him for three consecutive fours. It was like he was telling him that he is still the same Hardik Pandya and is only showing him respect because of the situation,” Sreesanth added.
Hardik Pandya batted exceedingly well in the game alongside Ishan Kishan, as he showed a lot of temperament to score runs before taking on the bowlers but fell short of a well-deserved century by 13 runs.
Meanwhile, the form of the Indian all-rounder will be crucial for the team’s success in the continental event going forward.
