Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal wants the all-rounder Faheem Ashraf to start performing in International Cricket just like the Indian T20 skipper Hardik Pandya. The 29-year-old has done exceedingly well in the Pakistan Super League and domestic cricket over the last few years and he will look to replicate his form in the International Cricket.

Ashraf is seen as one of the best all-rounders in the country and proved that during the 2023 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he played for Islamabad United. The all-rounder would be a key player for the Men in Green as he can contribute to the team’s success in both bat and ball.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal wants Faheem Ashraf to perform for the team in all-round aspects of the game taking a cue from the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has won matches for India with both bat and ball, and urges him to show more maturity playing for Pakistan and asserted him to take responsibility for the team.

“The Indian white-ball team is never complete without Hardik Pandya. He is there every time an Indian team is announced in white-ball cricket. You look at his record, he has won matches for his team with both, bat and ball. It is time Faheem Ashraf also starts to perform like him.

“It has been so long now, he has to show some maturity. I want Faheem Ashraf to be a surety in Pakistan’s white-ball team whenever it’s announced yet. He has to develop himself as an all-rounder. He has to show that responsibility,” Kamran Akmal said.

Faheem Ashraf can contribute with a few big shots as a lower-order left-handed batsman along with bowling skills and Ashraf can provide his team with breakthrough wickets and can be a key player for Pakistan going into the Asia Cup 2023.

They’re Showing Confidence On Him and It’s Time He Does Justice To It – Kamran Akmal

Kamran Akmal believes that the team management has shown a lot of faith in Faheem Ashraf as they have selected him for the high-octane Asia Cup and feels that it is high time for him to repay the confidence shown in him.

“It’s a big thing for him that the team management, the coach, Babar, and even Inzamam bhai, who has just arrived, have all shown faith in him. He doesn’t have noteworthy performances of late, in domestic cricket as well as in PSL. Despite that, they’re showing confidence in him and it’s time he does justice to it,” Kamran Akmal added.

Pakistan will be one of the favourites going into the continental event in Pakistan and Sri Lanka as they have got an experienced team to do well in the Sub-continental conditions. The six-nation Asia Cup, which will be played in a 50-over format will be played from August 3ost to September 17th.
