Nepal captain Rohit Paudel has revealed that they have set their plans against the Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit going into the must-win game against the heavyweights India on Monday. Nepal will be facing India for the first time in the Asia Cup 2023 and they will look to put in some memorable performance against the Men in Blue in the continental event.
Nepal suffered a comprehensive defeat against the Men in Green in the opening game after a brilliant start with the ball in the 1st innings, before Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed took on the Nepal bowlers in the middle overs of the game to help their side post a mammoth total.
Meanwhile, the Indian duo Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had a poor outing in their game against Pakistan on Saturday.
Speaking to the media ahead of the clash against India, Rohit Paudel said that the team is excited to play against the Indian team in the Asia Cup 2023. He asserted that the team is prepared to bowl to the prolific Indian batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Paudel added the team will be looking to give their 100% per cent against India.
“We are excited to play against India. India is a big country. We are all excited to represent Nepal against India on the biggest stage. Virat and Rohit have been the stars for their country for over ten years.”
“We have made plans to tackle them and hopefully, we will execute them tomorrow. On the field, it will be a game that both of us will be wanting to win,” Rohit Paudel said.
In the opening game against India, batters struggled to get going in a rain-affected match. The Indian top-order batters struggled to score runs losing wickets at regular intervals before Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya formed a brilliant partnership to bail the team out of trouble. Now, Indian batters would be looking to perform for the team to build their confidence going further into the tournament.

Rohit Paudel hailed the Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli and termed him an inspiration for everyone. He lauded him for his discipline on and off the field, which helped him to be at his best over a longer period in International cricket.
“Virat is an inspiration for all of us, not only for his work ethic but also his discipline, on and off the field,” Rohit Paudel added.
Virat Kohli has redefined the way the India national cricket team now looks on the cricket field and the former Indian skipper would look to put a match-winning performance against Nepal to help the Indian side get into the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2023.
