Ashraf is seen as one of the best all-rounders in the country and proved that during the 2023 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he played for Islamabad United. The all-rounder would be a key player for the Men in Green as he can contribute to the team’s success in both bat and ball and was preferred ahead of Dahani in the team.
In another notable omission, Shan Masood The 33-year-old was not selected for the team due to his string of poor performances in recent times in International Cricket. The Men in Green will be one of the favourites going into the continental event in Pakistan and Sri Lanka as they have got an experienced team to do well in the Sub-continental conditions.
