Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf has expressed his aspirations to revive the bilateral relationship between India and Pakistan in International cricket as he proposed the “Jinnah-Gandhi” series taking inspiration from the historic Ashes series.
The last bilateral series between the two arch-rivals had taken place in the 2012/13 season when the Men in Green visited for a white-ball tour. The last Test series between the two countries had taken place way back in 2007 following which both the teams have never faced each other longer format of the game due to the poor relationship between the two neighbouring countries.
Zaka Ashraf has proposed a Jinnah-Gandhi series between the two countries seeking inspiration from the Ashes as this series can be one of the biggest spectacles in sports history and said that the team has performed exceedingly well in recent times and they don’t want to disturb the combination going into the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup 2023 respectively.

“I believe this team is performing, and we should not disturb them,” Zaka Ashraf said.
As of now, all the bilateral relations between India and Pakistan are suspended due to political and security reasons. The arch-rivals do not play any bilateral series against each other and only take on each other during ICC events or Asia Cup.
The two giants of Asian cricket are set to clash in the ODI formats in the forthcoming Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023 later this year in India. The India-Pakistan games in cricket are one of the most anticipated matches in world cricket as it offers a lot of high-octane moments on and off the field.

The PCB chairman has confirmed that Mickey Arthur will continue as the Director of Cricket alongside head coach Grant Bradburn and bowling coach Morne Morne, as they will short to prepare for the continental event and revealed that they will strong team in Asia Cup and World Cup.

“We will give them time as Asia Cup and World Cup is just around the corner, We are trying to make a strong squad that can compete strongly in the Asia Cup and World Cup,” Zaka Ashraf added.
Pakistan has been one of the most improved teams in recent times, as their batters have scored runs all around the world, with their pace attack being one of the most lethal groups in International cricket and they have quality spinners who do well in the sub-continental conditions which them one of the favourites going into Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023.
