IPL chairman Arun Dhumal revealed that the schedule and venue of the India-Pakistan game have been finalized in the most recent meeting between Jay Shah and Zaka Ashraf. The Men in Blue is likely to take on the Pakistan team in Sri Lanka and both teams can play a maximum of three games against each other if they reach the final of the tournaments.

The India-Pakistan games in cricket are one of the most anticipated matches in the cricket team across any format of the game, as it offers many memories for fans worldwide. The rivalry between the neighbouring nations has come a long way as it carries a lot of emotions on and off the field between the players and citizens of both countries.

According to the reports in PTI, Arun Dhumal said that schedule for the continental event has been finalized as the matches will be played in a hybrid model as the four games are hosted by Pakistan whereas the other nine games are conducted by Sri Lanka.

“Our secretary met PCB head Zaka Ashraf and the Asia Cup schedule was finalised and it is on course as it was discussed earlier. There will be four games of league stage in Pakistan, followed by 9 games in Sri Lanka including both India versus Pakistan game and in case a third game if both teams play final,”  Arun Dhumal said.

The two giants of Asian cricket are set to clash in the ODI formats in the forthcoming Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup later this year in India. The clash between the two heavyweights is regarded as one of the most important sporting events in the world and he denied the reports of  BCCI secretary Jay Shah visiting Pakistan during the Asia Cup 2023.

“There was no such discussion held. Neither India is travelling to Pakistan and our secretary will be travelling contrary to reports that have surfaced. Only the schedule was finalised,” Arun Dhumal added.

The six-nation Asia Cup 2023, which will be played in a 50-over format will be played from August 31st to September 17th, India and Pakistan have been grouped with Nepal. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are included in the other group. The final will be one of a total of 13 games that will be played in the tournament to decide the winner of the marquee event.
