“(On camaraderie with Kohli) We discuss what to do series by series regarding the opposition players. What to do and what not,” Rohit Sharma said.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be crucial for the team’s success in the ongoing continental event in Sri Lanka, as both batsmen are the most experienced players for India going into the ODI World Cup starting in October. The Indian veterans will look to inspire the team to win the championship.

I Have Huge Respect For Rahul Dravid For What He Is A Person Firstly – Rohit Sharma

On his relationship with the Indian head coach, Rohit Sharma expressed his admiration for Rahul Dravid as a person and a cricketer and recalled the memories of his debuting as a youngster under his captaincy of Dravid for India and revealed his style of operating as a head coach for the team.

“(On partnership with coach) I have a huge respect for him (Rahul Dravid) for what he is as a person firstly and then obviously as a cricketer. It’s because you need to be a good person first and then a cricketer, footballer, doctor, etc.”

“I made my debut under him, though, I didn’t play long. He doesn’t like any communication gap with any player of support staff. His first rule is to communicate. We have an open relationship where we keep discussing things about the players or tactics,” Rohit Sharma added.

Dravid replaced Ravi Shastri as the head coach after the 2021 T20 World Cup and has not really witnessed a very successful tenure so far. Rohit Sharma’s led side had a poor campaign in the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup 2022 alongside losing the World Test Championship final against Australia in 2023 and the team will look to end their ICC title drought on home soil in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
