The trend of high scoring games in Australia seems to never end, as the first day of the Boxing Day test belonged entirely to the Australian batsmen. Usman Khawaja on his return to international cricket after an injury slammed a rapid ton, to stamp his authority on the helpless West Indies bowlers. Khawaja looked fluent and brought up his third consecutive test ton in as many games. Opener Joe Burns too was among the runs as he brought up his century after question marks were raised over his credentials. Day one ended, with Australia well on top and on the course to dominate the visitors. Fans reacted to the day’s proceedings on Twitter, and below are some of the tweets.
Roger Harper is 52. And probably still a better fieldsman than all these guys. #AUSvWI

Can’t blame Australian players for not winning in England when you are too busy making runs at will on roads at home. #AUSvWI

Not since October has Khawaja been dismissed for less than 100 in any format. Even allowing for injury, that’s some sort of summer #ausvwi

I’d rather prefer a bowling pitch where both teams fold up inside 3 days and we’ve got something to watch. #AUSvWI
