AUS vs SA 2016: Shaun Marsh Ruled Out Of 2nd Test; Burns, Ferguson Called Up
From past one year, it has been the injury issues more which has troubled Shaun Marsh rather than his form with the bat as the southpaw, who was playing first international game after his return from the finger injury, has again injured himself and has been sidelined from the second Test match, to be played at Hobart.
Marsh suffered the injury during the fourth innings of the game when Australia were chasing a mountain total of 539. To take a note, Marsh suffered a blow on the same finger where he was hurt last time. He is set to undergo another surgery for the injury which will now again send him on an exile, maybe a long one this time. It has been the awful year for Marsh despite performing with the bat as he was ruled out from Sri Lanka ODIs after he hurt himself during the first ODI. Later, he was forced to skip the ODI series against South Africa and was included for this game only after proving his match fitness.
An injury to him has resulted in a call up for Joe Burns and Callum Ferguson for the Hobart Test. Joe Burns and Callum Ferguson will have a race for that one opening slot. It seems like Captain Steve Smith will give a chance to Ferguson to don the baggy green for the first time.
