After the First unofficial Test match ended in a draw, Australia A side took it to India A and defeated them by 10 wickets. The match took place at M.A Chidambaram stadium Chennai where many fans throng along to see the stars like Kohli, Pujara and co and extended their full support.
After Winning the toss, Pujara decided to bat first and unfortunately to his liking the batting unit failed miserably with Karun Nair being the top scorer, reaching 50. Virat Kohli, who decided to play for India A to get some match practice didn’t contribute much to his liking and ended up scoring just 16. Pujara got out cheaply for just 11. Tail didn’t wag as much. India A ended up making a total of 135. Gurinder Sandhu ended up picking 3 wickets in the first innings.
Australia A, in their first innings, dominated the Indian players to the fullest and opening batsman Bancroft ended up making an excellent century and scored 150 from 267 which you call as a typical test innings. Ferguson and Sandhu added valuable contributions as Australia ended up making 349 in their first innings. Spinner Baba Aparajith and Pragyan Ojha shared 9 wickets between them with Aparajith claiming a five wicket haul.
However, India A showed a bit more resistance in their second innings but it wasn’t enough to take a considerable lead. Abhinav Mukund was the only batsman to score a half century, whereas other batsman failed once again. Kohli who looked good on the crease got out for 45 and the skipper Pujara failed once again repeating the same score as in the first innings. Sandhu was once again impressive for Australia A and ended up taking 4 wickets. Spinner O’ Keefe also ended up taking four wickets. India A was all-out for just 274 and took a lead a 61. Openers Bancroft and Khawaja didn’t take much time as they ended up chasing the total in just 6.1 overs and registered a humongous ten wicket victory over India A.
