Australia regain their No 1 ODI ranking after beating the Proteas 4-1, in the Carlton Mid Odi series. Chasing a revised target og 275 from 48 overs after rain delay, they were crusing and were 260/4 after 43 overs, but sort of choked it in the end and were reduced to 267/8 at the end of 46 overs, with 8 required from 12 balls. With 4 needed from the last over, faulkner smashed a 4 of the first ball in the last over. Australia were at the Number 1 spot, after defeating Pakistan In the Odi series played in Dubai last month. Soon after that, India were up against Sri Lanka and India had defeated the Lankan Lions 5-0 to grab the No 1 spot in Odi’s from Australia. Australia had already won the series against South Africa after Defeating them at the MCG, The series stood at 3-1 as on 21st November 2014 and Australia were just behind India in the ODI rankings at 116 points, India were at the top with 117 points.
