The Australian players are all set to don a retro look for the Sydney ODI against India on Saturday. The players will wear green and gold kits, that the Allan Border-led team wore during the late 1980s. Meanwhile, Peter Siddle, the fast bowler expressed his excitement upon returning to the ODI side first and then about wearing the old classic outfit.

Speaking ahead of the SCG match on Saturday, Peter Siddle said he along with the teammates was impressed after knowing about the same.

“It’s pretty awesome actually,” Siddle said. “We found out the other day we were going to be in it, so the boys were a bit excited to get their pack and open up and check it out. Everyone is very impressed.”

Meanwhile, Peter is returning to the ODI team after eight long years, and he let everyone know about how he feels. Though he picked his last ODI wicket at the SCG itself, the fast bowler cannot wait to represent Australia again, only if he’s given a chance.

He had impressed everyone with his economy of 3.95 runs/over in his previous seven games for Victoria during 2017/18 JLT One-Day Cup. Furthermore, Peter had some decent outings during ongoing BBL for Adelaide Strikers as well.

“It’s pretty amazing,” Siddle told cricket.com.au recently about his ODI recall. “I never really thought it’d come. To get another one-day game hadn’t even crossed my mind.”

“I’m just as amazed as a young bloke getting his first call-up, that’s what it feels like. It feels like I’m starting all over again, so I’m very thankful.”

Siddle looks to wear a ‘headband’ too

Though Peter Siddle has remained focused about doing well in the given chances, he didn’t rule out wearing an extra accessory, perhaps a ‘headband’ during the ODI clash against India. Well, for that, Siddle says he will seek some help from Adam Zampa.

“I might just pull out the headband,” he said. “I’ll have to ask Zamps (Adam Zampa) to borrow one of his and go with the DK (Lillee) headband. We’ll see what we pull out on Saturday.”
