Australian Cricket team bowling coach David Saker admitted that skipper Tim Paine and his bowlers were not in the same page in the first two days of the fourth Test against Indian National Cricket team at Sydney. He also revealed that the team had aggressive discussions at the end of the day’s play.
Meanwhile, Australia’s pace trio had a difficult outing in the first two days of the fourth Test. India posted a massive total 622 with two centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant. Mayank Agarwal and Ravindra Jadeja also chipped in with crucial scores as India sits pretty on top at the end of the second day.
“I think the bowlers wanted one thing, Tim Paine wanted one thing,” Saker told ABC Grandstand. “That’s not been the case as the general rule but when you were watching from the sidelines you could see there was some confusion,” he added.
In addition to, David Saker said that both he and head coach Justin Langer had a heated discussion with the team after the end of day’s play. Despite saying that the bowlers did a good job, Saker added that mere bowling good line and length wouldn’t help.
“Last night we talked quite heavily about the day, more because we thought it was a really disappointing day and we just wanted to get our point across,” he said. “Some of it was quite aggressive and that’s not like me usually. I was quite animated, and I know I was not the only one.
JL (Langer) wasn’t happy. The bowlers know that. We had spells that were quite good but that’s not going to cut it,” he concluded.
Recently Shane Warne also took a dig at the Australian bowling putting forward some vital statistics. He revealed that the Australian bowlers have managed to get one LBW in the series while the Indians have picked eight wickets through LBWs including Jasprit Bumrah’s six.
