Well, it was quite a brilliant last couple of years for Mayank Agarwal. He scored loads of runs in the domestic cricket to achieve his dream to play for the Indian National Cricket Team. The stylish right-handed batsman was often ignored in the selections but his consistent scores knocked selectors door more often than not.

Meanwhile, in an interview, Mayank Agarwal reveals his life story and how he pursued his goal in real life. Further, he also revealed that it was surreal to make his debut amidst 70,000 crowds in the historic Boxing Day Test at MCG.

On initial days:

Mayank Agarwal quoted that he never thought to become a cricketer initially. Instead, he wants to become a pilot by studying science.

But when he started playing for Karnataka, Mayank thought of giving it a shot by studying in an open school in order to make two ways open. But, after playing a lot of matches, Mayank decided to give a serious look and finally, he succeeded through all those struggles in between.

Ravi Shastri sir told me about my debut at MCG:

Further, Mayank Agarwal revealed that Ravi Shastri was the one, who revealed him his debut at MCG. Speaking of that, Mayank added that he was in complete silence, as his dream is all set to become true. He also revealed that playing in front of 70,000 people is something unreal and he told himself that it is the moment to show yourself.

Little disappointed but 76 is better than nothing:

Mayank Agarwal knocked a brilliant 76 in his debut innings and lost his wicket when there was a time for him to make it big.

Speaking of the same, the youngster quoted that he was disappointed for not scoring a century but added that he will take those 70+ runs, as something is always better than nothing, especially, on debut.
